Lexi is a founding artist, co-choreographer and teacher in Oxford and London with Sole Rebel Tap. Most recently she Co-Directed and –Produced our two-woman tap and storytelling show ‘Blushed’ with SRT’s AD Hannah De Cancho, for Vault Festival 2015.
At the onset of her tap career, in 2005, Lexi was fortunate to perform in Turned On Tap at the QEH alongside world-renowned tap-artists such as Jason Samuels-Smith and Dormesha Sumbry-Edwards. She has since tapped for the London 2012 Opening Ceremony; with Lee Payne’s Bruckfeet Productions, and with musicians The Cash Cows for the Late at Tate sessions. She is currently Rehearsal Director and producer for Avalon Rathgeb’s tap company ‘Old Kent Road’.
Lexi graduated with a first-class honours degree in Performing Arts in 2003, and in 2013 trained through LISPA in physical theatre, mime, clown and Lecoq studies.
Most recently Lexi created SHED with collaborator Laura Williamson, an innovative comedic physical theatre piece, for Vault Festival 2014. Previously she has produced and choreographed four works through her dance-theatre umbrella ‘The Ticket Theatre Dance’ since 2006, performing at Resolution! seasons, and receiving a Big Dance Microgrant in 2012. As a dancer and choreographer, Lexi worked for 10 years since 2004 as a founder member with the neo-showgirl troupe ‘The Beaux Belles’.
